In the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 Year 2010 on Heritage Heritage is described that is immaterial cultural heritage in the form of Objects of Cultural, Heritage Buildings, Heritage Structure, World Heritage, and Cultural reserve on land and / or water that need to be preserved because its existence has important value for history, science, education, religion, and / or culture. To realize the mandate of the Act RI, conservation efforts need to be made objects of cultural heritage in the archipelago as well as to disseminate a more intense and widespread that people in Indonesia in particular, and the International masyakarakat generally, more aware of the importance of heritage objects such .
Among the various heritage objects that have significant value in the development of the ancient history of the archipelago is the script (as Objects of Cultural Property) and the palace / castle (as the Heritage Building). As is known, Indonesia is one of the nation's heritage treasures of ancient handwritten manuscripts (manuscripts) in a very large number. The content of the contents of the texts comprised of multiple languages and characters is not limited to the field of literature, but also covers other areas as diverse as religion, history, laws, customs, medicine, engineering, etc. other.
Meanwhile, the palace or the palace centuries ago holds a central role as a center of power and culture in the various kingdoms in the archipelago, such as in Aceh, Palembang, Cirebon, Yogyakarta, Surakarta, Buton, and Bima.
In the context of history, we can observe a very close correlation between the manuscript and the castle / palace. Palace / palace has an important role in the effort of creation, maintenance, and inheritance of the ancient manuscripts. From historical records, we know that the courts in the archipelago has been a center of writing, copying, maintenance, and inheritance manuscript. Palace scriptorium texts into the archipelago. Many important manuscripts created archipelago in the palace, and many important manuscripts were preserved by the palace, and passed down from generation to generation.
Efforts creation, maintenance, and inheritance of ancient manuscripts in the palaces of the archipelago has lasted hundreds of years, from generation to generation. That's why the role of the palace in relation to this archipelago texts can be regarded as a long tradition. Palace as a royal center of power plays an important role in the formation of community tradition, "forward-backward" its tradition, culture, more broadly, a society in a kingdom will rely heavily on the important role played by the palace.
In the present context, the palace or the palace in some areas, still have relevance to the world for being a doorstop pernaskahan manuscripts preservation archipelago inherited from generation to generation as heirlooms.
Unfortunately, so far has not been much research done related to the important role of the palace in the formation of the archipelago pernaskahan tradition, and the role of the palace in the maintenance and inheritance of objects of cultural heritage.
Departure from that background, Pernaskahan Society Archipelago (Manassa) intend to organize an international scientific meeting.
